(KSL News) -- The man who led police on a fatal car chase down Big Cottonwood Canyon was in court this morning.
Scott Hall has been charged with manslaughter in the death of his 16-year old passenger, Jessica Archer. Court documents say the chase began after a deputy spotted him and Archer engaging in sexual activity. Hall refused to stop, going down the canyon at 80 miles an hour.
When the deputy asked him why he ran, Hall said it was, "because of marijuana". Marijuana was found at the scene of the crash.
