(KSL News) What a Salt Lake County man thought was his cat, turned out to be a break-in.
It happened at 3910 S. 700 West.
The man awoke early this morning to a bang. Believing his cat knocked something over, he got up to check and found his front door broken and a random man is his apartment.
The suspect then attacked the victim with a baseball bat, hitting him in the head, then ran off.

The Salt Lake County Sheriff office says nothing was taken and they have no motive for the attack.
The victim received several stitches in his head but was otherwise okay.
The victim says he's never seen the man who attacked him.
Because nothing was stolen, police think it was a case of mistaken identity.
