Sandra Yi reportingA former high school drama teacher is federally charged for having child pornography.

Court documents say 52-year old Michael Perry admitted to having child pornography. He's been charged with receiving and distributing it.

When authorities served a search warrant at his home they found a memory stick and two CD's with child pornography images.

Court Documents say Perry admitted to police that he had an 'addiction'. He also admitted to uploading more than 100 images to a user group, back in February of 2003.

His user group profile indicated he was a 16-year old boy.

Perry also told police that in June of that year he had joined a child pornography website to download images.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Perry taught drama at Pleasant Grove and Spanish Fork High Schools and Sherwood Hills Junior High School. But it's unclear when he taught at those schools. One school district's records going back to 1985 didn't show any staff by that name.

Court documents say, he currently owns a theatre supply company.

When Perry was arrested, his wife told police that he had sexually abused a family member, 25 years ago. At that time, the alleged victim was 10 years old. Court documents also say that Perry admitted to sexually abusing the boy.

If convicted of the child pornography charges he could spend up to 35 years in federal prison.
