(KSL News) A high speed chase landed a suspect behind bars this morning, accused of making a mess on Salt Lake roads.

State troopers say the man sped off from a traffic stop on 300 West and 2600 South last night. Utah Highway Patrol says he started a chase and ran a red light on 2100 South.

His car then slammed into a Jeep. It flipped and hit another vehicle. The driver of the Jeep was ejected.

He and another victim were taken to hospitals in stable condition. Two other cars were also involved. Other witnesses say they narrowly escaped the crash.

Jodi Goulding/ Witness: "I have glass chips on my hood because I was so close. He was going to hit me if I hadn't reversed my car."

After the crash, the suspect ran off. Search dogs and Salt Lake police were able to catch him a few blocks away. He's now in jail, awaiting charges.
