SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Two of the seven people accused of clubbing more than 12 hundred turkeys to death last year have been sentenced to 30 days in jail.
Travis Argyle and Martin Smith, both 19, pleaded guilty last week to reduced class B misdemeanor charges of aggravated cruelty to animals.
They and 20-year-old Colton Belliston and 23-year-old Cody Long, 23, had been charged with second-degree felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor trespassing in the slaughter at farm near Fountain Green in February 2004.
Three juveniles also were charged.
Sanpete County Attorney Ross Blackham expects Belliston, Long and the juveniles to accept the same plea agreements.
