(KSL News) Family and friends gathered for a candlelight vigil tonight.

They were there to remember a man beaten to death over the weekend.

Candlelight Vigil for Man Beaten to Death

Jared Alcom was at a party in West Valley early Sunday morning when police say he got into an argument with Ryan Evans. Evans knocked Alcom unconscious. He then drove Alcom to the hospital. But Alcom died from his injuries.

Evans has been booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
