FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) -- Alicia Gallegos has been sentenced to one year in Davis County Jail for vehicle homicide.

Pamela Kathan of North Ogden was killed on September sixth, 2003, when the car driven by Gallegos crossed the median on State Street in Clearfield, went into the southbound lane and collided head-on with the vehicle in which Kathan was a passenger.

Prosecutors said Gallegos was driving under the influence of several prescription drugs that affected her central nervous system.

The Roy woman pleaded guilty to the second-degree felony January 13th and was sentenced yesterday by Second District Judge Thomas L. Kay, who also ordered her to pay restitution.
