SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A man who severely beat another man with a baseball bat last year has been sentenced.

Twenty-two-year-old Richard Toledo-Montano has been sentenced to prison for up to 15-years. Last April, authorities say Montano went to a Salt Lake County apartment to visit his baby son. However, according to court documents, the 18-year-old boyfriend of the child's mother turned him away.

Montano then returned with three friends, broke into the apartment and severely beat Justin Harris.

The judge also ordered Montano to pay restitution for Harris' medical bills, which so far totals 30-thousand dollars.
