TAYLORSVILLE -- The Salt Lake County District Attorney filed charges of homicide Friday against a man accused of killing his co-worker and injuring a woman in Taylorsville.
Carmelo Mendoza is charged with shooting and killing Domingo Lopez last month in a mobile home park. He's also accused of shooting and injuring Lopez's wife in front of the couple's three children.
According to court documents, Mendoza worked with Lopez, and was upset over an argument.
"The victim, Mr. Lopez Chavez, asked the defendant to be removed from his work crew and transferred to another crew," explained Alicia Cook, spokeswoman for the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office.
Mendoza has not been captured. Police say he may be in Mexico.
