PARK CITY, Utah (AP) -- Police say a fugitive wanted in connection with the remains found near the Wyoming border last month may have ties to Aryan gangs.
Summit County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Dave Booth said informants told detectives that Mark Allen Carlson has Aryan gang connections. However, investigators have NOT been able to confirm that.
The dismembered remains of John D. Mayo were found last month spread across a seven-mile stretch of road along I-80. Pathologists said the Mayo's body had been sawed apart.
Detectives are looking for Carlson to ask him questions about Mayo's death and disposal.
The Utah Division of Adult Probation and Parole issued warrant for Carlson's arrest in March after he walked away from a halfway house in Salt Lake City.
