Richard Piatt ReportingA family in Box Elder County today gained some closure on an abusive situation they claim they've lived with for years. 70-year-old Jack Jensen of Brigham City admits he molested his grandson two years ago. Today Jensen pleaded guilty to forcible sex abuse, a 2nd degree felony.
But according to Jensen's son, Carl, this was not the first offense.
Carl Jensen: "Myself, my brother, our sons, our cousins, and the more we look, the more victims we find."
Bikers against Child Abuse were also in court, offering their support. That kind of support is something Carl says is important to all child abuse victims, and urges them to seek help.
Carl Jensen: "Come forward. Get a hold of BACA, get a hold of the prosecuting attorney's office, whoever you can get a hold of to get things started. We've got to protect the kids."
In Carl's case, and for others, the statute of limitation has expired. Still, this guilty plea is a fresh start for family plagued by years of abuse.
Carl Jensen: "It gives us a point to start the healing from and move forward with our lives, and hopefully we can do better in the future."
Jensen is scheduled to face a sentencing hearing July 6th. He faces a maximum 15 years in prison.
