ROOSEVELT, Utah (AP) -- A Roosevelt grade school teacher died during a faculty outing on the Green River in Daggett County.

Deputies say 50-year-old Patricia Ann Mitchell of Ioka and another person fell out of a raft Friday about five miles south of Flaming Gore Dam.

The other person was able to get back in, but Mitchell grabbed onto another raft. People in the raft held onto her but could not pull her in

At some point, Mitchell lost consciousness, and could not be revived.

Mitchell taught at East Elementary School.
