SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Governor Huntsman has named an appellate court nominee. Carolyn Baldwin McHugh was has been nominated from a field of seven candidates for the Utah Court of Appeals.
Huntsman said McHugh was selected because she has the right combination of intellect, temperament, and the ability to build consensus. He said he's confident she will complement and strengthen the existing bench.
McHugh would replace Judge Norman Jackson, who will retire in August. McHugh said she's honored to be asked to serve as an appellate court judge.
The state Senate will have to confirm McHugh.
