PROVO, Utah (AP) -- The former director for the Orem Fitness Center has pleaded guilty to embezzling more than 200 thousand dollars from the city from 1998 to 2004.
Michael Lynn Johnson entered the plea to the second-degree felony charge yesterday before Fourth District Judge Lynn Davis, who set sentencing for August tenth.
Johnson's attorney, Michael Esplin, said he hoped for leniency -- possibly just probation.
Esplin said Johnson had made complete restitution before the charges were filed.
He said his client mortgaged his home and sold off many of his assets, including his retirement.
