(KSL News) In light of Brennan Hawkin's experience and the disappearance of Garrett Bardsley, The Great Salt Lake Council of the Boy Scouts of America has decided to scrutinize wilderness trips more closely.
The council is also passing out cards to all scouts. They emphasize, what a scout should do if he gets lost.
S.T.O.P. stands for Stop, Think, Observe and Plan.
All of the information is already available in the scout handbook. But the council hopes the cards will serve as a ready, and possibly life-saving reminder.
