SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A Utah teen has died after being involved in a personal watercraft accident on Lake Powell yesterday.

The 16-year-old Orem teen was at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area with a group of friends yesterday morning.

Authorities say the youth was riding a personal watercraft when he collided with a friend riding a personal watercraft.

A paramedic in a nearby boat was able to bring the youth to shore. Park rangers tried to stabilize him. He was taken by helicopter to Flagstaff Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

The other Orem teen riding the personal watercraft was not injured.

This is the seventh fatal accident at Glen Canyon National Recreation area this year, and the second in the past two weeks.
