Alex Cabrero ReportingIt's hard to believe on a day like today, but someone left a baby alone inside a car at a West Valley store.

Fortunately the baby is going to be okay, but it was a scary situation. As hot as it gets in cars for adults, for children it's even worse, especially a three-month old child.

Someone shopping at the Wal-Mart at 6200 South and 5600 West was walking by the car and saw the three-month child inside. They ran in side the store and got Wal-Mart security. They were able to get the child out of the car, take it inside, and cooled the baby down with some damp cloths. That's when they called police and firefighters.

The baby was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but they tell us the child will be okay.

Police found the mother who had been shopping for about 30 minutes while the child was left in the car. She was charged with child abuse and neglect. Her name has not been released yet.
