SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A lawsuit has been filed against Utah's largest community college and its officials.
Allen P. Andersen has filed a lawsuit against Salt Lake Community College, two years after he was fired from the school.
Andersen, who worked as an administrator for S-L-C-C's Small Business Development Center, is seeking more than one (M)million dollars in damages.
According to the lawsuit, S-L-C-C officials breached Andersen's employment contract in 2003 when they fired him for what he says was "bogus and fabricated" reasons. Andersen was placed on paid administrative leave, pending a state audit. However, Andersen says he was never paid.
After being fired from the school, felony charges were filed against Andersen and three other former employees for illegally recording another employee's telephone conversation.
Andersen said the recordings weren't illegal because it occurred in the school's open reception area. A judge later dropped the charges against Andersen and the other employees.
A S-L-C-C spokesman said yesterday they had not seen Andersen's lawsuit.
