SALT LAKE CITY -- Salt Lake Police are trying to figure out how a man's body ended up in the Jordan River.

A passerby spotted the body floating beneath a bridge at about 700 North and Jordan River Parkway Saturday night.

Police say it doesn't look like the body had been there very long.

They have identified the man but are waiting to release his name until his family has been notified.
