OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Police say an 82-year-old man has died after being hit by a vehicle in an Ogden crosswalk Monday morning.

The man was identified as Jerry LeRoy Peart, of Ogden.

Ogden police say a vehicle in the outside lane of the road stopped for the man but a driver on the inside lane didn't see him and hit him with a 2001 Chevrolet Tracker.

The driver of the Chevrolet was not immediately cited.

Police say Peart had broken ribs and internal and head injuries. They say he had a note in his wallet saying he had no living family and giving directions for burial, but there are no indications the accident was a suicide.
