GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (AP) -- The National Park Service said Monday that a German tourist reported missing at the park has been found safe.
Authorities say they got a report that 20-year-old Klaus Lauterbach had checked in with his family.
The Park Service received a report from the Flagstaff Police Department Aug. 14 that Lauterbach had been reported missing by his father.
The father said his last contact with his son was Aug. 9. He believed that his son was going to be visiting the Grand Canyon that day.
The investigation determined Lauterbach was seen getting off a bus in front of a lodge on Aug. 9.
Flagstaff police said the father reported his son was well Monday and on his way to Vancouver as he continues touring North America.
