SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah residents may be able to finally throw a log into the fireplace tonight.
That's because state officials say rotten air that's plagued Salt Lake, Utah and Davis counties in recent days is expected to go away today.
Air quality has been deteriorating since last Thursday, changing from "yellow" to "red" conditions.
Residents are asked to curtail burning wood or coal and limit driving when officials issue a "yellow" alert. With "red" conditions, a burn ban is mandatory.
Air quality officials, however, predict today's air quality to be "green." Which means the air is clean and bans on fireplace burning will be lifted.
