(KSL News) This morning, KSL's Coco Warner honored a St. George Man, whose wife nominated him for a High Five.
Marlene Coleman says her husband Ron takes care of his two grandchildren, and has taken in many foster children with special needs.
Marlene says while Ron's friends are busy golfing, traveling, perfecting their hobbies, her 75-year-old husband is busy raising two children. They are their grandchildren, ages 12 and 15, and they've been living with the Colemans for the past 11 and a half years.
She says he's also a great father figure to the many foster children that they've had in their home. Marlene describes Ron as an all around great guy.
Marlene Coleman/ Nominated husband: "Back when Ron was in his 60's, when Ron's friends were playing tennis and traveling, he was taking on other people's children-- foster children and grandchildren. And he's the most awesome hands-on dad that you've ever met. He's devoted the last 12 years of his life to taking care of other people's children. He's a remarkable man, and I wish he were my dad. I'm glad he's my husband."
Ron Coleman/ Nominated by wife: "I think I'm a little overwhelmed with that, and maybe that's a little overdrawn. I just try to be the best person I can. Marlene has had a lot of foster children herself when she was younger, and she was in foster homes. So our taking in foster children is our way of kind of paying the system back."
