(KSL News) A family in Taylorsville had to evacuate their home for a little while today when a fire broke out.
The granddaughter of the homeowners spotted smoke coming from the garage. The garage had been converted into an apartment.
The building is now unsafe, so inspectors and crews are coming in to make sure it is fixed.
Investigators are still trying to figure out how the fire started.
Damage is estimated at about 30-thousand dollars.
