SOUTHEAST IDAHO -- A pilot who died in a plane crash north of the Utah border has been identified.

Kevin Chambers of California and a passenger died Friday when their single-engine plane crashed in a remote area in southeastern Idaho. The passenger has not been identified.

The FAA says there's no indication the pilot filed a flight plan.

At this time it's unclear why the plane went down.
