NEW YORK (AFX) - The New York Philharmonic will have 10 concerts broadcast annually on European radio in a deal that it says will give it the first regular presence on the Continent among U.S. orchestras.
The Philharmonic announced an agreement Thursday with BBC Radio 3 and the European Broadcasting Union. The EBU has 71 active members in 52 countries of Europe, Africa and Asia, and 46 associate members in 29 other countries.
