(Photo: courtesy Brandon Bexell)NORTHERN UTAH -- Two residential fires did a lot of damage to homes in northern Utah Friday evening. The first happened in a detached garage near 300 North and Harrison Blvd. in Ogden.

The homeowner was mowing his lawn when he heard his wife shouting that there was a fire. He was able to get a newer-model truck out but lost another pickup, several four-wheelers and some yard equipment.
The other fire was at a Murray apartment complex near 5400 South and 300 East. It started in a second-story apartment, and crews were able to contain it to that area.
A baby in a neighboring apartment was checked out for breathing problems..
The cause of both fires is under investigation.
