OREM, Utah (AP) -- The composer of one of the most popular L-D-S Church children's songs has died.

Mildred Millett McNees died on Sunday in Orem at the age of 81.

She's known for composing the song "Happy, Happy Birthday." It's the LDS church's alternative to "Happy Birthday."

The long-time piano teacher wrote both the words and music to the song back in 1963. One survey says McNees' song is one of the most popular among children belonging to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at the Orem Park Stake Center beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will take place next Friday, December 29th in Mesa, Arizona.
