WEBER COUNTY -- A vehicle crash on Interstate 84 in Weber County Friday killed a driver and sent a baby to the hospital in critical condition.
The Utah Highway Patrol says the driver of a flatbed tractor-trailer pulled his truck off to the side of the road to adjust the straps on his load. As the driver was getting back into his truck, a Lincoln SUV slammed into the back of his trailer.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. A baby who was in a car seat in the backseat of the SUV was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The condition of the truck driver is unknown at this time.
Investigators say the semi was well off to the side of the road, and they're not yet sure what caused the driver of the SUV to veer into it.
