OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Dan Henry scored 16 points as Weber State defeated Portland 68-51 on Saturday.
The Wildcats (6-5) never trailed during the contest and used an early 13-3 run to lead 22-6 midway through the first half. Weber State led by as many as many as 19 in the first half before the Pilots (2-10) ended the half on an 8-2 run to pull within 38-25 at the break.
Weber State was 13-of-24 from the field in the first half and finished the game shooting just under 48 percent.
Portlands Kevin Field hit a jumper to open the second half, and the 11-point deficit was the closest the Pilots came the rest of the night.
Darren Cooper, who played for the first time since being injured Nov. 11, led Portland with 16 points. Sherrard Watson added 11 for Portland. Portland shot 36 percent from the field and was 3-of-10 on 3-point attempts.
