Sam Penrod ReportingThe Mormon Tabernacle Choir's annual Christmas concert begins tonight at the downtown Conference Center.
This year Sissel, a well known singer from around the world will be the choir's guest performer. Sissel is from Norway and is bringing with her some music from Norweigan Christmas traditions. But clearly her voice is what sets her apart in the world of music. Sissel performed with the choir last night during the dress rehearsal. Sissel is well known for her singing from the movie Titanic.
But she has appeared with a wide variety of musical performers from around the world. She calls singing in Utah with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir this weekend a great opportunity.
Sissel: "It feels very natural to be here and sing with the orchestra and the choir and to work with beautiful talented musicians and arrangers and conductors, it's fantastic."
Sissel will be performing tonight as well as tomorrow with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for two Christmas concerts. She will also appear Sunday morning during the choir's weekly broadcast.
Unfortunately, tickets for all of the performances including Sunday morning's are all gone. However you can see Sunday morning's performance right here on Channel Five at 9:30 am.
