(KSL News) A man who left a bag of meth within reach of a 5-month-old baby has pleaded guilty. The baby ingested the drug and then died.
The Salt Lake Tribune is reporting Raymond Chesley pleaded guilty to second degree manslaughter for the death of his girlfriend's baby.
As part of the plea deal, prosecutors dismissed a charge of desecration of a body. His girlfriend, Mary Lacey, has already pleaded guilty to desecration of a body.
The baby died last December after she ingested a bag of meth. The couple then moved the baby to another home, so police wouldn't search their home.
Chesley faces up to 15 years in prison when he is sentenced in February. Lacey will be sentenced next month.
