Gene Kennedy ReportingAround nine this morning a masked man robbed the Carl's Jr. at Redwood Road and 9000 South. He had a gun and forced four employees into a back office at gunpoint.

There were two robberies just like this on Thanksgiving Day, but police aren't sure if the suspect they caught today is the same robber. Employees are giving a similar description and the method sounds similar too.

He got money from the cash register, but someone got a hold of police very quickly.

A group of officers responded to the scene, including two who were off duty.

They saw the suspect as he was leaving the restaurant and chased him through the parking lot.

He only made it about 100 yards before police tackled him to the ground and arrested him.

Capt. Gary Cox, West Jordan Police Dept.: "It's a great thing that they were in the area. It says a lot justifying one of the reasons for having cars that we can take home and use off duty."

The robber is described as tall, Hispanic and only 17 years old.

Police will now look at whether this teenager robbed three others in West Jordan, and one in Taylorsville and South Jordan.
