(KSL News) Snowbird resort unveiled North America's first mountain ski tunnel today.
Snowbird leaders, skiers and boarders cut the ribbon for the new Peruvian Express Chairlift and tunnel.
The chairlift drops skiers and snowboarders off at a tunnel that's about 600-feet long.
Skiers step onto a conveyor belt inside the tunnel, which takes them to the resort's back side, Mineral Basin.
The tunnel lets intermediate skiers avoid steep slopes below the tram. It should also reduce tram lines.
