Ashley Hayes Reporting If this time of year has you dreaming about being out on the slopes instead of in the office, we found a way to take you there, virtually.
Ski Utah is promoting the state's resorts in a new hi- tech way, with a ski blogger.
Ashley Hayes joined the blogger for a tour of Park City's resort.
Kent Hyden is a true ski bum, and we say that in the most endearing way. He blogs about his ski adventures for Ski Utah. His big decision most days is which canyon and which resort he wants to ski.
If life is in fact elevated in Utah, then Kent Hyden is the one living it. When the self proclaimed ski bum isn't exploring Utah's various ski resorts he's writing about them.
Kent Hyden, Ski Blogger: "I'm gonna write about it's a beautiful day out here. It's warm. The snow is really good."
Hyden's daily excursions are of growing interest to ski enthusiasts. Hyden is a blogger featured on Ski Utah's website. In just the few weeks since he started writing, the site's taken off.
Hilary Reiter, Ski Utah: "It makes the website come to life."
While Hyden's goal is to find the powder, the best snow at the resorts, he says his blog offers a little something for everyone, even if that means your biggest concern is where to find the best hot chocolate.
Hyden: "I'm gonna be hanging out at the different restaurants and bars after I ski, doing the whole experience."
Reiter: "I think I have to say one of my favorite things was when he was skiing here one day, he asked a kid what his favoriet condiment was, and worked that into the blog."
But he never gets away from finding the snow. If it means taking more time to get up the hill than down it, he'll do it. Going head first and backwards, keeping up on a pair of skis can be intimidating, but for Hyden it's the keyboard that gets him.
Hyden: "That's what I was nervous about, the writing part of it."
We were excited to find he included his interview with Eyewitness News in Friday's blog. Catch him online or on a lift. He assures us there is much more to come.
After leaving Colorado to find the greatest snow on Earth....
"I'm never gonna leave," he says.
A representative from Ski Utah says 4-thousand people have logged on to read the blogs since they began around Thanksgiving time.
