Sam Penrod Reporting Police in Provo are warning college age women, to take precautions to protect themselves from sexual assaults. This is in response to the report of a woman raped outside her apartment complex.
The woman was attacked twice and it's believed to be the same suspect in both cases. The latest attack happened ten days ago.
Capt. Rick Healey, Provo Police Dept.: "The victim believes the same person in this most recent attack where there was a rape is the same person who had attacked her couple of weeks prior. That's what she believes right now."
Both assaults happened here in this apartment complex in Provo, the latest attack happened at eleven in the morning.
It happened at the Branbury complex, which is BYU approved, although police say the victim is not a student.
The suspect is described as a man in his late 20's to early 30's with a full goatee and ear rings in both ears.
Police are already working with other apartment complexes in the area, to do what they can to make the area safer-- it's a program called "The Crime Free Multi Housing Program"
Capt. Rick Healey, Provo Police Dept: "They are going to try and work with them on cutting down foliage, creating more lighting, doing a few more things to create more of a secure area."
And police are again reminding women to protect themselves. They say especially at night, women should not walk around in the complexes alone.
