(KSL News) Provo Police have arrested a man who they say tried to kill a woman, by holding her head underwater in a bathtub.

Alonzo Mosley is in the Utah County jail facing charges of attempted homicide and witness tampering.

Police say Mosley was involved in a very brutal assault of a woman, who suffered serious injuries to her face.

Capt. Rick Healey, Provo Police Dept.: The suspect was trying to drown her in the bath and the witness was able to get her out of the bathtub and call for the police and paramedics."

The victim is facing numerous surgeries for her injuries.
