SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Department of Corrections spokeswoman Angie Welling has been named Lt. Gov. Gary Herbert's communications director.

Huntsman is expected to resign from office later this summer once confirmed by the U.S. Senate as ambassador to China.
Welling, 31, has served as the public information officer for the Utah Department of Corrections since 2007. Before that, she worked for nearly eight years as a reporter at the Deseret News in Salt Lake City.
