AMERICAN FORK - Fire gutted a home in American Fork Friday evening.

Firefighters were called out to the home near 700 North and 500 West around 7:30 p.m.

The house was engulfed in flames when crews arrived, but they were able to put it out without calling any backup.

Fire officials say no one was home at the time and no one was hurt. The home, however, is a total loss.

Investigators are looking into what started the fire.
