MORGAN, Utah (AP) -- A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after bringing a loaded gun to school.
Authorities say they were tipped off last week by a concerned parent who said the teen was showing off a gun around Morgan High School.
Officers pulled the boy out of class and confiscated the gun --- a 25-caliber automatic handgun. Deputies say the teen told them he was NOT planning on using it, and apparently said he was NOT mad at anybody at the school.
The boy was arrested and booked into a juvenile detention facility in Roy for investigation of bringing a loaded gun to school and carrying a concealed weapon.
The case remains under investigation.
