FAIRVIEW -- A Holladay woman was killed Wednesday when her car crashed into an elk on U.S. 89 in Sanpete County.
The Utah Highway Patrol said a 2007 Ford Focus crashed into the animal as it was standing in the roadway. The vehicle went off the road, through a fence and rolled before landing on its top.

"Officers suspect that speed was a factor in this accident," the UHP said in a statement Thursday.
Brooke Baldwin, 24, died as a result of her injuries. The three people in the car with her were transported to Sanpete Valley Hospital where they were last reported to be in critical condition.
All occupants were wearing their seat belts, the UHP said.
