MANILA, Utah (AP) -- Daggett County in northern Utah has qualified for a drought disaster declaration.
Governor Huntsman declared the county a drought disaster, despite an adequate water year for the majority of Utah.
Drought conditions caused about $900,000 in damage to crops.
The U.S. agriculture secretary will review the request and make a decision within the next few weeks.
Possible aid for farmers and ranchers could come in the form of low-interest loans.
