(KSL News) -- Salt Lake City prosecutors are investigating a complaint against the starting quarterback for the University of Utah football team.
Sim Gill, Chief Prosecutor, Salt Lake City: "Mr. Ratliff has been identified as the person and the complaint was sent to us to be screened against one Mr. Brett Ratliff."
Gill says the complaint against Ratliff is sexual in nature. His office handles misdemeanor counts, but Gill would give no details, and stresses they've filed no charges.
Ute head coach Kyle Whittingham reinforced that.
Kyle Whittingham, Head Coach, University of Utah: "As of right now we're aware that there are allegations against Brett, our quarterback. Right now there's no charges been filed, nothing's substantiated. If it gets to that point where there are charges, obviously we'll handle it the correct way."
Whittingham says it is "business as usual" as his team prepares to face Tulsa in the December 23rd Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas.
