Last week the Delta Center got a new name: Energy Solutions Arena.
That's not a name that rolls easily off the tongue. We gave you a place to vent and suggest ideas for, maybe, a catchier name for the house that Larry built.
After a week we've heard from close to 400 of you on our message board. We've read through and tallied up the suggestions and here's how they shake out.
Naming Nods
- Tox Box
- Radium Stadium
- Haz Mat
- Fall Out Shelter/Arena
- The Dump
There were quite a few of you who liked "Tox Box" as the new name, "Radium Stadium" and "Haz Mat" scored points too.
"Fall Out Shelter" or Arena and "The Dump" were neck and neck with a lot of pointed references made to the business of Energy Solutions.
Top Suggestion
- ESA or Energy Center
But level Utah heads prevailed....And ESA, or, just "Energy Center." was the most endorsed suggestion from our viewers.
Our online commentary was purely for fun, but there is a strong and serious effort to try to get Miller to reconsider the name.
