A veritable "Who's Who" of BYU Football talent from the current decade will be on hand next month for the APX "Next Level" Football Camps, in Provo and St. George. Full details on this growing football instruction experience can be found by clicking this link.

The roster of former Cougar football stars helping with the camp has expanded this season, and one of the biggest name camp coaches will be New York Giants second-year linebacker Bryan Kehl. I spoke with Bryan after he got off the field following his morning OTA session at the Giants training facility, and you can hear his interview by clicking the audio link in the "Cougar Cuts" box to the right.

By the way, Kehl is currently playing at weakside linebacker, competing with Gerris Wilkinson to back up WLB MIchael Boley--acquired via free agency to be the projected starter at "Will." During his rookie season, Kehl had two starts, and finished with 30 tackles, a sack, a pick and a deflection.

College football's "Big Four" preseason publications are out with their national rankings. BYU is ranked thusly:

Sporting News: 22nd

Athlon: 33rd

Phil Steele: 15th

Lindy's: 25th

Avg. ranking: 24

*******

As for the other two of the MWC's "Big Three":

Utah (SN-19, Ath-21, PS-44, Lin-23; avg ranking: 27)

TCU (SN-24. Ath-28, PS-18, Lin-14; avg. ranking: 21)

College Sports Publications' "Blue Ribbon Yearbook" is the most comprehensive preseason publication, but as it is a multi-hundred page annual as opposed to a magazine, it deserves its own category. So, while certainly enough of a heavyweight to be considered part of the publication list above, it is not surveyed. For that matter, I don't believe it is released until later in the summer (I ordered mine in late June last season).
