(KSL News) A car slammed into a building this afternoon, causing a gas leak.
Officials say the driver lost control of his car, narrowly missing a power pole, before hitting a gas meter and then colliding into the building.
The driver was taken to the hospital in serious condition, and crews say it may have been a medical condition that caused him to lose control.
Luckily, hardly anyone was in the biilding because of the holiday.
Crews evacuated the area while they took care of the gas leak and stabilized the building.
