(KSL/AP)- Uintah County sheriff's deputy, Kevin Orr, died overnight at LDS Hospital from injuries sustained from a helicopter crash.
Detective Kevin Orr died in the line of duty searching for a missing 25-year-old Michelle Turney, of Jensen. She's been missing since last Friday when her abandoned car was found caught on fire.
Officials also say the pilot, Brian Grayson of Reno, Nevada, is listed in fair condition at University Hospital.
Deputies say the two men were flying above the Green River yesterday afternoon when Grayson apparently failed to see a power line hanging across the river and crashed into it. The helicopter then crashed into the Green River.
"It's obviously devastating to have one of your own be involved in something like this, but at the same time the investigation has to continue." Said Lt. Keith Campbell of the Uintah County Sheriff's Office. The Uintah County Sheriff's Office will move forward in the investigation, despite the loss of their friend and colleague.
Detective Orr was married and a father four. He had been with the Uintah County Sheriff's Office for eleven years.
