(KSL News) It's rivalry week, and our High 5 segment is getting into the spirit of things by paying tribute to some of the state's biggest Ute and Cougar fans.
Yesterday we saw red. But this morning, we're true blue. Coco Warner gave today's High 5 to Ruby Cheesman of Kearns.
We received an email from Ruby's daughter, DeAnn Hale. She described her parents as the ultimate BYU fans. They had season tickets, and her dad would write BYU with Christmas lights on the roof of their house.
DeAnn's dad recently passed away, and Ruby lost her favorite cheering partner. But it has not dampened their enthusiasm for the game.
DeAnn Hale/Nominated Mother: "We just think you're awesome. And with Dad passing away this has been a hard year. But you're still going to root for BYU, still go to the games. We just think that's awesome."
Ruby Cheesman: "I'm just so surprised. I've seen this on tv and I said I hope my girls never do that to me."
One of Ruby's daughters got her another surprise--tickets to the BYU game.
