(KSL News) -- Utah is playing host to the National Christmas tree tonight.
The tree is from the Olympic National Forest in Washington State. It's a pacific silver fir that stands 65 to 70 feet tall.
The U-S forest service has appointed an officer to escort it around all the fifty states.
Ron Malamphy: "It's a great honor to be here representing the forest service of the united states knowing its going over the people's tree."
The tree will make its final stop at the Nation's Capitol in Washington DC on November 27th.
