MAGNA -- A man stabbed multiple times inside his house says he doesn't know why he was attacked.

The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office says the man, who lives by himself near 7800 West and Sharon Drive in Magna, received a knock at his door Thursday between 6 and 7 a.m.

The victim opened the door, and the man at the door was able force his way inside.

The victim was stabbed multiple times and tied up.

Deputies say the robber may have taken items from the house, but they are not sure exactly what.

The victim was able to get to a neighbor's house, who took him to LDS Hospital. Because of his condition, he was transported to the Intermountain Medical Center.

The victim tells deputies he doesn't know his attacker, but they aren't sure if they have the whole story, or if they can even piece together the chain of events.

They know there was an altercation in the doorway and found several knives with blood on them.

They do not think the attack was random.
